What time is it? Some say that these next years will be defined as the technology comeback. Some go so far as to say that it will be a permanent change. The question is, what kind of technology will provide this change? And, will it be the correct foundation for our future?
Before we begin to explore how far we can go, we must first remember how far we have come. From stone age to computer age, human beings have always strived to create something special that helps every other human being live better lives. So, this next age must also provide a stepping stone that allows the next generation after this one a solid footing on the pathway to the future.
What is our future age called? Many try to relate our future to computers and electronics; however, my vision of our new age is all about networks. Where people live, work, or play is important for what this next age creates.
If we look down the track we can see how some events keep occurring over and over again in a sort of pattern. We roll our eyes and wonder when this train is ever going to leave the station. Time seems stuck on a continuous loop without real change, but this time looks…different.
Why is it different? And, what about this time makes our footing more secure? The answer is that we have become one people now. We are all related to each other. Technology has provided us access to our generations, so we have proof of our existence and what it means to be who we are in the world. Whether of different culture, skin color, religion, or ideology, our differences are really…the same.
Therefore, the time has come to change how we live our lives. From beginning to end, we must now provide those connections that forever bind us to each other. With this information, we can finally free ouselves from the distrust and know that to be human is the only true measure of time.
Will we know how to follow the path left by our ancestors? We will if we stop only long enough to look at the stone. I believe in our power to change. History sometimes repeats itself, but not this time.
